2021 Community Projects
With 40 members in the club, we contributed 4,668 volunteer hours,
$4,333 in monetary donations and $732 in-kind donations to community programs.

Homeless Mats
Clubwomen combine helping others with recyclying by weaving mats from plastic bags. The mats are then provided to the homeless in our community through a collaboration with The Salvation Army.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
In collaboration with Ss. Peter and Paul the Apostles Catholic Church, clubwomen pray over the shawls they crochet and pray for the female patient that will be receiving the shawl.

Christmas Angel Tree
In collaboration with The Salvation Army, clubwomen adopted a child and provided clothing & toys as Christmas gifts.

Alzheimer's Fidget Quilts
Clubwomen donated fidget quilts to Alzheimer's patients at Westminster Manor. A fidget quilt is a lap-size activity quilt with different textured fabrics, embellished with assorted "fidget" items to stimulate their senses.

Kicks for Kids
Clubwomen purchased new shoes that were donated to children in foster care through Safe Children Coalition. This project was in support of GFWC Florida Juniors #KicksForKidsChallenge.

Bookmarks to encourage reading
Clubwomen painted and colored 400+ bookmarks that were donated to a local elementary school. The bookmark message and character were designed by the club president.
Rita B. Deer says, "Read a book, dear!"

Keep Manatee Avenue Beautiful
There are many ways to serve the community and the work isn't always glamorous, but clubwomen chip in every quarter to pick up trash for the "Keep Manatee Avenue Beautiful" initiative.

Kindness Rocks
Love, Respect & Kindness is the message of GFWC Florida. Clubwomen were thrilled to paint encouraging messages on rocks that were placed in random areas around our community to help others have a good day and know they are being thought of.

"Walk to End Alzheimer's"
Clubwomen raised funds and participated in the WALK TO END ALZHEIMER'S. The PURPLE flower represents walkers who have lost a loved one to Alzheimer's or dementia. The ORANGE flower represents walkers who want to see a world without Alzheimer's or dementia.

Meals on Wheels Senior Gift Boxes
In collaboration with Meals on Wheels of Manatee County, clubwomen donated items and created 9 gift boxes that will be given to senior citizens during the holiday season. We love giving to those that need a little extra love & encouragement.

Cards for COPS
We love and appreciation all our law enforcement officers do for our community each and every day. To show appreciation, handwritten messages were written in holiday cards for the police forces of Bradenton, Bradenton Beach, Palmetto and Manatee County.
